How much does entropion (eyelid) surgery for dogs cost?

Entropion — an eyelid rolling inward so lashes rub the cornea — is corrected by removing a strip of skin so the lid sits flat. Named clinics publish flat prices for it: Anicira (Encinitas, CA) lists $633 for one eye and $1,012 for both eyes, and Good Care Animal Clinic (Miami) publishes a $500–$700 package that includes blood work, IV fluids, anesthesia, the surgery, pain medication and antibiotics. ThePricer’s 2026 survey puts a general-practice budget at $600–$1,200 for one eye, rising to $2,000–$3,000 or more with a veterinary ophthalmologist.

What drives the price

Whether one eye or both, and one lid or two, is the first driver — the Miami clinic prices per lid and adds a weight surcharge: $200 more for dogs of 70–100 lb and $300 more at 105–180 lb. Who operates is the second: an ophthalmologist costs several times a general practice. Pre-anesthetic blood work is sometimes extra — Anicira lists it at $160 — and a minority of dogs need a second, smaller correction surgery, which is a further bill. Entropion is one of three eye operations in this batch; compare cherry eye surgery and eye removal.

Temporary entropion caused by eye pain can resolve when the underlying problem is treated, and puppies are sometimes given temporary eyelid-tacking sutures instead of the permanent operation. Whether a given eyelid needs surgery is a veterinary decision. This page prices the surgery; it does not recommend it.
