How much do pet vaccinations cost?

In CareCredit/Synchrony's 2025 study, a set of core vaccinations runs $34–$77 for a dog and $50–$150 for a cat at full-service practices. Per shot, low-cost channels publish far less: $15–$28 per shot (Pawlicy), and named per-vaccine prices as low as $25 on a municipal clinic list.

Vaccinations — published figuresFigure
Dog core vaccinations (set) — CareCredit 2025 study$34–$77
Cat vaccinations — CareCredit 2025 study$50–$150
Per shot, general — Pawlicy puppy guide (2026)$15–$28
Rabies, named price — Vetco (Petco) Gig Harbor, WA$41
Rabies, named price — Vetco (Petco) Fairfax, VA$43
Rabies / DHPP / FVRCP, named price — Miami-Dade County Animal Services$25 per vaccine; rabies $10 at the low-income rate
VIP Petcare à la carte vaccines (names shown as images on its list)$39–$54 range published; packages $89 (essential) / $164 (total health)

What drives the price

Clinic type dominates: mobile and municipal low-cost clinics publish set per-shot prices, while a full-service visit bundles the shots with an exam fee (see the routine visit guide). Package pricing undercuts à la carte at the chains that publish both — VIP Petcare's own list shows packages priced below the sum of individual services. Rabies vaccination may also carry a separate local license fee or tax, which Vetco's lists note.

This page covers prices only. Which vaccines your pet needs, and on what schedule, is a question for your veterinarian — state and local law sets rabies requirements, and we publish no vaccination advice.
